The volunteer hours of each parent/guardian is an integral part of the Montessori program. One of the missions of the program is to emulate a cooperative environment. We tend to this by our involvement inside and outside the classroom. It is through dedication and participation we can contribute to the success of each child's journey in education.

Below is a listing of our current committees. Some committees are for short-duration projects; others are ongoing. If you are not able to volunteer in the classroom, joining a committee is a wonderful way to connect with other parents and help us work toward the goals of our Montessori program.

- Envelope Stuffing Committee
This committee usually meets two or three times over the summer to prepare the mailings for our Annual Appeal and our summer newsletter.
- Hospitality Committee
This committee provides snacks and helps set up before the Montessori Information Nights in February, the Fall Bar-B-Que in September, and the Spring Social in May.
- Montessori Information Night Committee
This committee meets in January to copy and sort the flyers announcing the February Montessori Information Nights to area preschools, kindergartens, and elementary schools. This committee also helps to prepare the folders of information for parents at the Information Nights.
- Website Committee
This committee may meet once or twice a year depending on the ideas generated during the meetings. Our main focus is to keep the CKMPA website current with meetings, activities, contacts, district info, etc.
- Classroom Clean up Committee
This committee works before the Montessori Information Nights in February and Celebration of Jackson Park in May or June to spiff up our classrooms. However, the teachers certainly appreciate routine cleaning of the classrooms, especially the table tops which collect spilled glue and paint and grimy hands, etc. This committee meets before or after school.
- Butter Braids Committee
The dates for our Butter Braids fundraiser are February 13-27, with delivery scheduled for March 12th. This committee will get started in late January and finish up in the middle of March. They will do the prep work for handing out information for selling the Butter Braids before February 13th, collect money and orders after sales are completed on February 27th, and help with distribution on March 12th.
- Phone Calling Committee
This committee will meet three or four times a year. They will make phone calls to remind people about the Fall BBQ and the Spring Social. We also like to make personal contact with the new families before the Spring Social in May.
- Theater/Reunion Committee
After the January 2007 reunion, there was much interest expressed to continue this tradition. We plan to couple it with a theater night and make an evening of it once a year to keep in contact with those who started our wonderful Montessori program and its alumnae.
- Community Resource Committee
There are several service organizations and businesses in Central Kitsap that would like to give money to a good cause, and we are certainly a good cause! This committee would investigate the procedures for requesting donations from local businesses and organizations.
