home wasnt feasible, but I got my Montessori pre-
school certificate at Seattle University and met
Nanci Andvik. I finished my pre-school internship
pregnant with child #3. Two more children
followed. Family was my major focus along with
church activities and Boy Scouting for several years.
In 1992, I learned that Nanci was looking for a
partner to share her Montessori position in Central
Kitsap. So began my association with our program.
Through whatever forms the classrooms have taken
or wherever the program has been located, I have
loved working with the children, helping them
move through what they need to know, and
encouraging them to be as independent as they are
ready to be. I love creating and building materials
and activities to help the children grow and learn. I
look forward to several more years helping children
meet challenges and expand their awareness of the
world.

for 30 years. We have 5 children, ages 16-29, and
3 grandchildren.
After graduation I taught junior high Home
Economics in Bothell for 4 years. Then we moved

The average cost of a private elementary school in
the Seattle area is $5,785 per year*. That adds up to
almost $34,000 for a 6-year elementary education.
Tracyton Montessori students receive the same high quality
education for free.
